Richard Jenkinson 2008-04-18 until 2008-04-22	Nontnatee Resort, Nonthaburi The resort has expansive grounds with a large pond/small lake. There are a few rooms for accomodation, with some more being made in a boat style by the water. However most of the business comes from :- 1) company seminars 2 ) the restaurant which is very popular with local Thais in the evening, as there are no other restaurants nearby. 3 ) Karoake via private rooms which do not interfere with the accomodation by way of noise. A very quiet location. Before booking I did ask Mr Bing at Sawasdee.com if there are shops and restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the resort and was assured there were. In fact there are none, unless you count the very small general shop opposite the resort. Had I received a truthful answer I would not have stayed there. I booked a cottage but on arrival was shown to a standard room. This was immediately changed when I queried it. The construction of the cottage rooms is exceptionally basic, with minimal concrete, but mostly wooden slats. There is therefore no sound proofing between adjacent rooms even though they are detached. It states on the web site that there is air conditioning, but this was only in the upstairs bedroom. The lounge downstairs only had a fan. The design is also flawed in that the bathroom/toilet ( which has no extractor fan and very little light ) is on the ground floor, so not easily accessible for the bedroom upstairs. There is a note on the hotel door saying do not leave valuables in your room, but there did not appear to be any security box/safe at reception !! The web site and information at reception mention activities, but there were none available for guests. You are very much on your own to arrange anything and although the resort is alongside a klong, there are no boats readily available for trips.You can get into Bangkok but it involves a 25/30 minute ride in a songtheow to Nonthaburi pier, plus a 1 hour ferry. Although the breakfast was stated as being kao dtom = rice soup, it was a weird combination of 4 frankfurters, 2 fried eggs, some thin ham, ( and some salad covered in salad cream, which I asked them not to include ) . However even in spite of asking in Thai, they were not capable of cooking fried eggs without making the yolks rock hard. Staff were polite. I had no trouble even with my limited Thai on checking in, but the reception staff do not speak English, and the Managers English is VERY basic, and understanding her is difficult. Overall a disappointing stay, and 4 nights was more than enough.	Information from Mr Bing regarding the local shops/restaurants was totally misleading and inaccurate.

Xav & Delphine 2008-04-13 until 2008-04-16	Nontnatee Resort, Nonthaburi Wonderful hotel with beautiful scenery in the forest, nice rooms, great welcoming, smiling and helpful staff, looks like a village in the paradise! We had a very great and relaxing time there!	Very useful, providing a good discount !

Beautiful surroundings, the accommodation was however a little basic but what can you expect for the price. A real bargain!! Staff were very friendly but be advised that if the owner isn t there, getting anyone to speak English would be difficult, checking in on my arrival was eventful, nonetheless it was a superb break, the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Also Internet access in the lobby and again reasonably priced and as it s a small place in terms and not many occupants I had free access to the OC and internet every time. I would go there again without doubt and would recommend it.	Very good and attentive
