Hotel very old. Room Carpet smelled and wall paper peeling off. Saw something black moving on the floorroom, could be a small rat or big lizard. Will not consider staying there again

New Empire Hotel is not so new. We reserved two rooms. Had to move from one room as there was urine leaking through bathroom ceiling from toilet above. Moved across the hall without hesitation. Rooms smelled of stale smoke and wallpaper was peeling off stained walls. That said...staff was always pleasant and very helpful in assisting us with taxi fares and directions!

Booking was easy. Tough to make these decisions on line as photos can be outdated.

The hotel is located in China Town, very easy access to all the restaurants there. The hotel has Mandarin speaking staff and they are very helpful to guest and give correct and value information. The room is clean but the carpet is little old, the wall has paint seen peeling off and there is hole on the cupboard. Hot shower is not working, for a single traveling person s stay, overall comment is still acceptable for the rate they charge.

Booking with Sawade.com is very smooth and so far no problem. By the time I checked in the late afternoon, the hotel is already well informed. Great service. However the picture of the hotel at the booking pages is a bit exaggerating.

Good location in Chinatown near Wat Traimit and the China Gate. A lot of good restaurants nearby. Hotel very old and smelly. Carpets in the rooms disgusting!Staff friendly, but avoid the Hotel-laundry(paid 100Bath for 3 garments, which returned unwashed). Poor service in the Hotel-Coffee-Shop! I would recommend to stay here no longer than 2 nights!Much better service in the Chinatown Hotel 50 meters away with a very good restaurant and Internet.

TOP! Dankeschoen!

Older and run down. The paint was peeling and there were water stains on the bathroom ceiling. Included breakfast was decent and the staff was friendly. Easy walk to the train station.

Easy.

If you are looking for a nice 2 star hotel close to the china-town markets and a short walk (5 min) to Hua Lamphong MRT Station you cannot go past the New Empire. A few of the previous comments left here were not so flattering but you can t expect to much for the price. We come to BKK to explore, be out and about not to sit in a hotel all day, all We need is a comfortable bed to sleep in. The front rooms of the hotel can be a bit noisey so if you are bothered by this request a room on the back side of the hotel or buy a set of ear plugs from Watsons pharmacy for 69BHT. The Coffee shop included breakfast is fairly basic but there are plenty of excellent hawker stalls and coffee shops along Yaowarat Rd. My partner and i enjoyed our stay and will revisit this hotel in the future.

Hey these guys rock we originally booked another hotel which ended up being fully booked and they suggested this one and we couldn t be happier.

OK so this is not your fancy luxurious hotel as you can find around Sukumvit area, but it was just fine for me. The room was big enough, the bathroom perfectly clean and convenient, and the staff (most of which does not speak english aside from those at the check-in counter) were all very friendly. The airt con, as in most hotels in this price range and category is very difficult to regulate unless you happen to be equipped with a small pair of pliers (very convenient to have while traveling in Thailand). All in all I think it was quite a nice little place at a very reasonable cost. I ll definitely use it again when in this part of town.

A long time returning user of this site, all I can say is that, once again, it was perfect.

The hotel is a bit old. The elevator is slow. Anyway, the receptionists are very friendly. It is quite easy to access to nearby China Town for shopping, easy access to restaurants. It is a good choice with cheap price if people do not expect much, as it provides basic needs. Good enough for rest after travelling in town!

Very good. Immediate reply and very efficient.
