Eva Sundell 2009-05-03	Khaolak Orchid Beach Resort, Khao Lak, Nang Tong Beach Good service but to calm. It surprise us that orchid beach resort was the only hotel at the long beach! This hotel are perfect for relax and honeymoon. We was there for three days and that was enough. Our three big children didn t like it. It was low season and not much turist and nothing to do for them. I felt sad when i walked at the big beach and saw photo of small children who became on tsunami. I saw where it before were hotel and broken palms. The hotel was very nice just perfect but!!

Was dissapointed that they insisted on charging me 225 baht/day for my baby for the food. She did not eat any of the food, but still we had to pay. No where else have I had to pay for my childrens stay or food/breakfast.

Joakim Hansson 2009-01-19	Khaolak Orchid Beach Resort, Khao Lak, Nang Tong Beach Perfect hotel for relaxation. You are allmost alone on a 5 km beach in paradise. You must travel by taxi to Khao lak city if you want to shop or eat outside the hotel, 300 baht or 50 baht/pers on hotel shuttle bus. We will come back again. perfect for honymone.	Nice and easy.
Raymond and Anita Switzerland 2009-01-16	Khaolak Orchid Beach Resort, Khao Lak, Nang Tong Beach We made a booking request in July 2008 for the period 30.12.2008 – 16.01.2009 for an “Orchid Deluxe Room” room and have got the feedback that this room type was fully booked. Sawadee.com offered us an alternative for a “Deluxe Sea View” room and we accepted with a remark that we would like a room on ground floor doe to the fact, that the required room was not available. At the time when we arrived, they gave us a room in the last corner of the building with a view, more or less, to the wall of the neighbour building. The room smelled extremely of chemicals to destroy insects. After the first night we had terrible headache because of this smell and we ask for another room. We have got another room in a higher category against an additional payment of 300 Bath per day. This room was ok compare to the higher price. In order to enjoy our breakfast, we have to found the right corner every morning because of a very bad smelling too in this area. Breakfast buffet was not very variedly during the whole 17 days. We never had dinner or lunch in the hotel, so we can not evaluate the quality of food. The garden and poolside is generous and calm but plates, glasses etc. used by guests who consumed sometime in the garden area, were often not cleared for days long. Between the resort and the beach there is a small local road which is not shown and mentioned on pictures and facilities on Sawadee.com. All in all, the Hotel could be ok compare to the price, except the above negatives. At last the staff, especially those at the reception, is not very friendly and it appears extremely strange for visitors who knows the way of life in Thailand. We travel since more then 10 years to Thailand and since around 7 years we always booked our hotels on sawadee.com. It’s a mess to say that we never had a bad experience like this with staff before. At last, our flight was at 08:50 pm from Phuket and we asked for a late check out at 03:00 pm. After 17 days they offered us to hold the room until 03:00 pm with an additional charge of 200 Baht per hour!! At the time of check out there was absolutely nothing like “thank you…”, “hopefully you enjoy…” or “see you again….”. So we definitely can not recommend this hotel.
Goffredo Gubbini 2009-01-11	Khaolak Orchid Beach Resort, Khao Lak, Nang Tong Beach The hotel was very comfortable, with large rooms, sea views and closed to the beach. Well isolated from other resorts, it is at few miles from the village, but you can use an efficient and frequent shuttle bus of the hotel. Not so good the restaurant, but you can have very good meals in the restaurants situated on the beach or in the village.	High level, precise and efficient
Craig Pantanowitz 2008-12-13	Khaolak Orchid Beach Resort, Khao Lak, Nang Tong Beach Rooms are stunning spacious and new, bathroom is very big! Very clean room and very comfortable bed! we were in the new wing! Nicer then the photos! Breakfast is ok...Adult pool is very nice clean and quiet! Hotel is far from town about 10 minutes drive but the shuttle is usefull and runs often. The best part about the hotel are the 2 managers Jirasak Sae Lim and Thomas I left my camera in the shuttle and left for Phi Phi the staff arranged at the hotels cost to have it delivered to my next hotel in Koh Lanta they went above and beyond the call of duty and I was so astounded how willing they were to help us! Thanks again! If you going to Koh Lak I canr reccomend this hotel!	Brilliant will definitley use this service again!
T. K. Pulford 2007-03-03 until 2007-03-10	Khaolak Orchid Beach Resort, Khao Lak, Nang Tong Beach My Wife & I have just returned from a 6 week trip to SE Asia. While there, we stayed in many resorts including the Khaolak Orchid Beach Resort. By far this Resort was the best. The Staff were incredibly friendly, and helpful, the breakfast buffet was fabulous, and our room first class. There was never a problem getting a lounger at the pool or in the garden area (not like most of the resorts we stayed in). The one minor draw back (not the resorts fault)is that all the other resorts that used to be to the north & south of the Orchid are now gone as a result of the 2004 Tsunami. Therefore if you wish to try dining at other locations you will half to take a shuttle into town (about 10 mins)which is provided by the hotel every hour. Would we stay at the Orchid again? We would not hesitate, and look forward to returning to this resort in the future.	Excellent
