hugh miller/wirot uiaphon 2009-03-01	La Residence, Surawongse Road I attempted to check-in to this hotel at 0830. Half day room rate was demanded for early check-in. I declined and was compelled to cool my heels in a coffee shop till midday. The room was vacant, it was just a money grubbing exercise. No free water in room. They charge 10 baht per bottle + (get this) 7% VAT. This came to 1 baht 40 satang. I short-changed them 40 satang and they were unhappy. I booked a 4 night stay but only stayed 1. Hotel OK but expensive for what you get. Breakfast poor. Decor is hippy meets minimalist. First and last time for me.
James Penrose / Nukan Buachoom 2008-10-24	La Residence, Surawongse Road Friendly clean hotel, good sized room, huge bed - no chairs at all (would be nice with 1 or 2, sink & toilet in bathroom very slow to empty, but everything clean. Happy to stay again and recommend to others	Pretty quick.

The room was adequately for our needs, neat and the noise of being on Surawong didn t really bother us. One of our group had somewhat less luck with an air conditioner that couldn t be controlled. The breakfast I would skip altogether and venture out for something more memorable--local or international. The staff were exceptionally accommodating and friendly with advice on travel and arranging a special viewing of the Super Bowl (!).
Peter Haahr 2007-03-11 until 2007-03-13	La Residence, Surawongse Road The rooms are good. The staff friendly and very helpfull. The breakfast is boring and could be better. I would stay there again - did on the last day home. The worst about the place is the 15 minuts walk from the river.	good and effective
Ronald Phillips 2006-12-08 until 2006-12-11	La Residence, Surawongse Road Hotel was well located, though it is small and not well known by the taxi community (get one of their cards with a map on it!) Staff was very kind and eager to please. Room was pleasant, nicely appointed, somewhat of an understated elegance. Bed was on the firm side, as it was a futon mattress -- still pretty comfortable. We will be returning to the same facility next week with no regrets. Improvments to be made: breakfast was a bit lite (juice, wonderful fruit and low-quality toast). Overall, on a 1-5 scale, for the money I d give it a 4. -- rp.	No problems with the booking service, once I notified the credit card company that we were going to travel.

Peter Klezok 2006-11-16 until 2006-11-19	La Residence, Surawongse Road This is more then most of the 30 to 80 US$ Hotels in Bangkok. Clean right sized rooms for two with a touch of Design. We asked for a non-smoking room - no problem the room was not smelling. The location is perfect. 8 minutes to the BTS, 5 minutes to the Patpong nightmarket, good Seafood restaurants around the La Residence. The staff was helpfull, kind and humorous - excellent! Mnibar, TV, big Shower, AC (relatively quiet) We come back!
Ashley & Charlie 2006-08-22 until 2006-08-24	La Residence, Surawongse Road Good location, but not good service or breakfast. Expensive for the quality of the room and breakfast. No shampoo. Not as new as looks. Safety deposit box in large size rooms.	Quickly replied to my query.
Chalie / Jafferi / Supian 2006-05-27 until 2006-05-30	La Residence, Surawongse Road Hotel rooms are nice and sexy. It arouses me everytime I went in. However, the service is too terrible, the manager (male) at the front office was unfriendly and the face is like we owes him money. Breakfast are terrible - well only one choice that is bread and bread and bread! unlike other hotels i.e. rose hotels, they have choices. Employee at restaurant cant get a simple request done such as half boiled egg, they will give you an almost boiled egg. The manager told off the employee for giving us a free flow (they said yes to a free flow coffee but not the manager..hmmnn.. contridicting information) coffee/tea in front of us.. fortunately we have a thai friend with us! overall, I will not stay in this hotel anymore!	cool and fast and reliable.
