John Mills 2009-04-15	Ark Bar Garden - Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach I thought the hotel , the staff and location was just perfect. Thanks to Terry and Mario and all there staff for a most enjoyable stay.
Ali (Perth) 2009-04-09	Ark Bar Garden - Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach I absolutely loved this hotel and would have to strongly disagree with the negative comments made about it. This was my first time staying at Ark Bar and the decision to stay there was largely based on the fact that when I go to Samui I generally spend all of my time at Ark Bar so why not stay there this time around. I was not disappointed either. Whilst the hotel does have a lively atmosphere, the music is stopped at 2.00am and I stayed in the garden room B3 (very close to the restaurant and therefore the noise) and I slept fine every night and I wasn t once bothered by the noise. The food was simply divine and could not be faulted in the slightest. Mario has done an absolutely outstanding job of training his staff and perfecting the dishes. We ended up eating at Ark Bar at least once a day which, I know, wasn t very adventurous of us but seeing as I have been to Samui several times, I didn t feel I was missing out - quite the opposite - I felt like I was having some of the best meals I had ever had in Thailand so congratulations to all the staff in the kitchen as we simply could not praise you enough! Speaking of the staff, I can honestly say I have never experienced the kind of hospitality and friendliness that the Ark Bar staff showed. Everybody from Pat to Mario to Terry were kind, considerate and went out of their way to make you comfortable and have every need met. I fell in love with all of the staff there and there were even tears from some of them as I left. I believe that the staff at Ark Bar were easily some of the best people I had met whilst travelling Thailand. Even if I hated the place (which I certainly didn t!), I would stay there again simply to see the staff and spend time with them again. So all in all, what s my opinion of Ark Bar as a whole? You couldn t find a better location, a better restaurant, a more lively atmosphere or friendlier staff in all of Thailand (or anywhere for that matter) and I don t think I would stay anywhere else when I m in Samui now! I absolutely loved it and so did everybody I met there. Try it and I m sure you won t regret it.	Absolutely brilliant - so brilliant in fact that when I booked my friends into a hotel, they emailed us saying that they may want to reassess their choice seeing as the hotel in question had recently had very bad reviews and in light of this, my friends did decide to change hotels and were VERY impressed with their choice. So yes, the service of Sawadee was above and beyond expectations and they have always been incredibly helpful and efficient when I have used them (which is ALL the time!)
Sarah de Man 2009-01-29	Ark Bar Garden - Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach If you don t mind, overpriced, no sleep, average rooms, trance music in your room till 4am, dirty beach this is the place for you. The staff were friendly and it was in a good location, but you could stay somewhere else in the same location just down the road, with much less noise for half the price you pay to stay in this average place! they have a beach party on wednesday night, come to this but do not stay at the hotel on this night, stay somewhere up the road away from it, walk there and then walk home!!!	great

jonathan maycock 2008-04-07 until 2008-04-17	Ark Bar Garden - Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach I stayed ther for 10 nights over the songkrann period and thought it was absolutely faultless. Friendly staff, fantastic food, reasonable room rates and they do a mean English breakfast if you can drag youself out of bed before 11am which is included in the room price. mainly a young croud stay there though as it can get quite lively at night, wouldn t recommend to over 50s unless you like 12 hour beach parties. Would definetly come back 10/10	first class, no problems what so ever.
Kjetil Berntsen 2008-03-17 until 2008-04-04	Ark Bar Garden - Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach Stay away from this hotel. That they charge 1800 baht pr night for these rooms is to me a mystery. First off , my room was infested with moskitos. It also had a terrible smell. The bathroom was disgusting. We were also tormented by construction noice from 8 o , clock in the morning.(Since this is a party hotel a 8 o clock wake up call is not wanted :-) ) there is no safe in room , which turned out to be a problem. The reception staff looked like they wanted to kill you every time you wanted something from the safe. When this is said , you can not beat the beach parties that they have every wednsday. The food in the restaurant is also ok. The beach is really bad on this part of Chaweng. Litter and bottles everywhere. But its not worth the money. you can get better rooms just up the street for 700-900 baht pr night. So my advice is , unless they cut their prices in half stay away from this hotel.	worked like a charm.
Justin Wiegandt 2008-02-20 until 2008-02-24	Ark Bar Garden - Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach Pros: cheap price for an excellent location, great lunch and dinner food in the attached bar/restaurant. Cons: bathroom can get disgusting, water pressure not reliable, door lock was broken upon arrival, no lockbox in the room, terrible breakfast food in the attached bar/restaurant. This hotel is good for those people that don t mind sacrificing cleanliness for location. Ark Bar hosts one of the biggest parties each Wednesday night, so it s nice to be staying right in the middle of it. I don t recommend this hotel to families, as the thumping bass plays til 2AM and can be heard from most rooms. If that s your thing, though, this place is a MUST! My friends and I had a great time.
keit parker 2008-02-14 until 2008-02-20	Ark Bar Garden - Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach do your self a favaour and stay some where else. The rooms are small and not worth half the money they charge.The staff in the so called reception where rude,one night we went to get some money out off the so called safe which is a envelope in there filling cabinet, and the staff told us to come back in 15 min because they was eating then sat there laughing and talking in thai.The sink in the shower room had no connection so when you turned on the tap your feet got wet never got fixed in the 6 days there. The plus side is the food in the resturant and the bar. I would recommend that you you stay else where and go to bar and beach area for the atmosthere. ps we also emailed the ark bar twice to be picked up at airport and you guessed it know one to pick us up. The ark bar should take a good look at there self and get back to giving service with a smile(thai style)	very good always use them when going to thailand
Anthony James Reeves 2008-02-12 until 2008-02-28	Ark Bar Garden - Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach just arrived home from this resort and can t think of anything good to say about this place except the food in the bar was good. The rooms are very small. Power kept going off. toilet leaked water kept going off when in the middle of a shower. Very noisy people wandering round and banging on doors until 6 or 7 oclock in the morning. The pool was very small and never cleaned to our knowledge during our stay. I think the price was to high for what it is and you can get rooms much cheaper when you get there.The breakfast was included in the price but we only had it once as it was not worth bothering about. The location is good but the road leading into the resort is covered in potholes and very mucky especially if it rains. I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone with children and its full of young people getting drunk every night and making lots of noise.This is not a hotel style holiday more like a hostel.
Chui Mei Shan Eva 2008-01-03 until 2008-01-05	Ark Bar Garden - Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach so-so, near to the chewang beach, just steps away. our room has badly smell but still ok. if you are always go out for sunshine or just need a place to sleep, i think it s alright. but the price is rather high comparatively to the montien house.	very good and effient
