Moonhut Bungalow, Maenam Beach
This was our 3rd visit in 4 years to Moonhuts-need we say more!Bungalows fairly basic but has all the needs you require, nice size, aircon etc.Clean and not smelly. Great facilities, good swimming and excellent massage ladies-ask for Kwan! We have done the whole island and considering it s proximity, close to all but away from the humdrum!15mins to Chaweng,Bangrak and close to Fishermans village and Big Buddha. Main meal prices have climbed to restaurant prices however basic fare remain reasonable and best of all is Happy hour which is from 5-7pm!!!Can t wait to go back, such a memorable experience!

Very Professional and organised!

Moonhut Bungalow, Maenam Beach
Moonhut was in a beautiful location, away from the busy east coast , and on the northern mae nam beach, beautiful clear sea to swim in morning , noon, and night. we stayed in bungalow no.2 which had AC which worked fine, the plumbing was a little poor, but didnt bother us. the restaurant had a large choice, and was basic but fresh and tasty, the staff were very friendly despite them looking tired a lot of the time. the massage centr on the beach run by KWAN a thai girl was superb and was visited by us every day. the views were excellent over the sea and towards koh pagn yan island - I would return to this location again ... for the price it was good value for money

good, despite, the fact that on arrival they knew nothing of my booking at Moonhut , but was resolved but a different bungalow offered with a better view.

Moonhut Bungalow, Maenam Beach
nice, small Resort on a small, but very nice beach in the north of Ko Samui. (Maenam Beach) Restaurant is really nice and the stuff is very friendly. The food is excellent and cheap. The ambiente is very nice under palms an with a good view to Ko Phangan. The bungalows are clean and nice furnitured. Some of them stay directly at the beach. The resort is ca. 500m away from the street, so its quiet, but you can reach the shops and restaurants within a 10 minute walk. I would go there again. there is no Disco Live, like at the crouded Chaweng Beach. No problems at beach side with waterscooter.

Quick, nice service, good communication and fast service

Moonhut Bungalow, Maenam Beach
I stayed in the aircon room/bungalow for 4 nights. The room was acceptable but very basic. The bed was big and comfortable. Aircon was quiet and worked well. The bathroom was ok, however the water leaked from the bathroom into the closet area space that leads to the bedroom. I had to ask to have it mopped up each time after I took a shower (there is no shower cubicle in the bathroom - just the shower itself so the water goes over the floor). The staff were friendly but service not exceptional. One of the senior staff seemed quite moody compared to the others. Food & coffee were good - fresh and tasty. Personally I think it wasn t that cheap (for Thailand) given that this was a budget hotel option. It was right on the beach however which was a definite bonus. Friends stayed in the beachfront bungalow - these were much nicer and I would suggest staying in one of these if you can stretch your budget. [Also, check out Hutcha which is just 100m down the beach - same price point, but nicer quality with a pool, tho not quite on the beach itself.]

Moonhut Bungalow, Maenam Beach
Pretty nice place to stay for a quiet getaway. Only complaint is that the whole place shut down, no lights on, after 9pm so it wasn t a welcoming place to come back to at the end of the night. Great price on renting a motorbike so you get to explore the island!

Just fine.

Moonhut Bungalow, Maenam Beach
Must say that our experience was not the best one...but not he worst one neither. We got a fan bungalow (550baht) which was very basic, which is ok but usually we get better quality for this amount... There were signs in the bunglaow that if you do this or that wrong we will charge you (e.g. harm towels, block the toilet..) which did not give very friendly impression, things could be said in more polite way. The mattress was very hard and the bungalow had lots of ants, they came to bed and walked over us during the night. The restaurant was very basic but very expensive compared to same quality elsewhere. Staff did not speak good English and we had some communication problems. But not all bad, the beach was nice and the people were smiling :)

Ok.

Nice bungalow very close to the beach. The bungalow was simple but clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Food at the restaurant was excellent. Perfect place to stay if you just want to relax by the beach, maybe have a drink and som nice food.

Good. No problems.

Moonhut Bungalow, Maenam Beach
very close to very nice beach but a 10 min walk to the main street. Quite far from any other restaurants, but the one at the hotel was nice and there was a cocktail happy hour! Very nice, would stay there again
