Mandarin Hotel, Rama IV Road As Marie Line saied before, Paint could be redone, windows could be cleaned ...The mandarin hotel is good located, near silom area. I think it s its only quality. Otherwise this hotel is very old, our bathroom was dirty and the sink was blocked. I dont recommand this hotel except if you re alone, and just for one night. And we ll have some problems because my friend was french but with thai origin; he was controlled every time we entered in the lobby; we were very furious about that:the staff isn t physiognomist, once time is ok, but not every times; it s the first time we ve got this problem in Thailand. |
good as usual |

Mandarin Hotel, Rama IV Road Comments about this hotel on this forum are very different, some positive, some negative, so I was really wondering what I would find on arrival ! Well, Mandarin is a wonderful hotel, with architecture and service you expect to find in a great hotel, even if it seems a little faded by time... Paint could be redone, windows could be cleaned (carpets were in the process of being changed during our stay), yes I ve seen a veery big bug in the reception area (but none in the room, and saw same same in the very modern MBK center), but well... The place is very welcoming, people extremely nice. Do not trust the limo service out for finding you a good address for food or foot massage (or even for finding you a car !) they send you to very expensive places, rely on chatting with other customers instead. The swimming pool is great, breakfast comes as a buffet, american and chinese style, you got a refrigerator in the bedroom, air conditionning works fine,... Pity there is no wifi in the rooms, you have to connect to internet through the hotel computers in the coffee shop (quite cheap), but after all you re on holiday, so just forget about work for a while.... So, my global impression ? Do not expect a parisian palace, you will be disappointed, expect a friendly place with all kind of services and permanent smiles, and you ll be delighted. Share smiles and chat with all the staff, and you ll be rewarded by the warmest welcome. Last year we were in a hotel belonging to Accor group, service was more formal and the hotel was more european standard , but we didn t found the same quality in human relationships. Mandarin is definitly a place were you can feel home. We ll be back ! |
Cool... Very efficient, and the prices are much better than booking directly with the hotels. The list of hotels in the town that you can sort on all criterias is veeeery helpful. |

Mandarin Hotel, Rama IV Road Nice hotel with good location and good service. Some of the staff were really not friendly but most of them were serviceminded. |
Good! |
