Pimolsuph House, Ban Tai Beach Due to the lack of reviews available for Pimolsuph House, I vowed to post a detailed review regardless of what we thought of it, so forgive me if it\ s too long.\r\nFirstly, the only other review available was mainly about the taxi driver not being able to find it. To avoid having the same problem, we thought we arrived prepared with the name, street address, phone and fax numbers and a printout from Google Maps. However, it seems that the taxi and minibus drivers go by the resort name alone and the street address is inconsequential. No one seemed to have ever heard of it which now makes sense as although it is on the main road there is no sign on that road, only a sign saying House for Rent and the phone number. The most important information to remember in order to find it, is that it is across the road from Milky Bay Resort, a place that every taxi driver will know.\r\nPimolsuph House is actually 4 completely separate and private houses built on a hill 200mtrs down the driveway behind the owners\ own home. We stayed in the highest house on the hill which we referred to as the tree house as it is surrounded by lush vegetation and lots of trees as they all are. Firstly, be prepared to climb lots of steep steps to get up there. Each house is extremely private. The lower level consists of one double bedroom with ensuite with cold water shower and a kitchen with a large fridge and a few basic appliances and utensils. Floors are tiled.Access to the top floor is by external stairs which are also very steep.Upstairs is a large balcony verandah with sea views, 2 double bedrooms with a large 2 way bathroom and a living area. As we had 7 people the owners supplied an extra double mattress on the living room floor and there was a timber table and chairs for 6 on the verandah. The only air conditioning is in one of the upstairs bedrooms with an extraction fan that sucks the air into the 2nd bedroom. All floors upstairs are polished timber. The houses seem quite new.The first thing we noticed was that the house was immaculately clean. The owner is very pedantic. Thick new towels were supplied but only 6 and when we asked for clean towels after a couple of days the owners had trouble finding any replacements other than their own from their house. All of the beds had a bottom sheet and lightweight throw only but as the weather was hot this was only a problem in the downstairs where the only cooling is a wall fan directly over the bed. You need to take your own soap, toiletries and toilet paper.\r\nThe one drawback about the house was the distance out of town. All the action is in Haad Rin which is about a 10-12 minute motorbike ride over some quite challenging hills.\r\nI would recommend this place for a group of friends or family wanting to stay together for a small price but don\ t expect resort quality. A motorbike is best value transport although taxis drive past constantly to and from Haad Rin or Thongsala which is only a 5 minute drive away. Taxi fare to or from the house is 100 baht although some drivers will try getting more.\r\nThe owners also take care of any laundry you would like done while there. There is a convenience store, several massage places restaurants etc right on the street outside. Remember most important thing is OPPOSITE MILKY BAY RESORT |

Pimolsuph House, Ban Tai Beach It is the worst booking I ever make in my life.I paid 2000 baht per night for the accomodation, which I think it is slightly expensive and I would expect it will be a good environment and facility. From the pictures shown in the website, it looks acceptable. The problem is, our taxi driver could not find the location. He asked around, but none of the residents knew where is the hotel located. We drove along the street more than 30 minutes, wandering and asking around. The taxi driver was really frustrated and intended to leave us in the middle of nowhere. Somehow he still want to collect the money from us without fetching us to the place. Eventually the taxi driver stopped at a spot, while we didn t know the hotel was just 3 minutes walk off the stress, without any name shown on the roadside. My friend asked the worker from the gas station across the road, the worker didn t know the hotel as well (although the hotel is just across the road). Finally I decided to walk toward the hotel and find out what is the name of the building. It was a scary walk, because the street was really quiet and dark. Finally we knew that it was the hotel we supposed to stay. Right after that, the taxi driver abandoned us (two ladies) immediately and left us alone on the street right after he got the money from us. He didn t bother to drive us into the hotel The hotel is really located out of the way. Imagine if we come back late, we have to walk along the blackout street in order to reach the shady hotel. There is not any convenience store at the area. Therefore, we decided to forfeit 2000 baht, and moved to another hotel located at Hadrin area. What a nightmare to find the hotel! The information given by the website is not trustworthy. With 2000 baht, we deserve a more accessible/ comfortable hotel. This hotel is highly non-recommended unless you are willing to challenge yourself to stay in this forbidden area. |
