Seth French 2010-01-17	Kata Poolside Resort, Kata Beach We spent 21 days in Thailand and this hotel was the only disappointment during our trip. We arrived one day earlier, and had a fast and easy check-in. The staff was nice, helpful, and friendly. The hotel is conveniently located 3 min away from the beach, on the street full of shops, restaurants, ATMs, and taxis. The room is rather big, clean and nice. However, once you get into your room, you see several print-outs on the table, saying how much you can be charged for damaging any of the hotel property. The list includes towels, sheets, glasses – everything, including the big mattress and lamps! Thus, you need to make sure that you don’t forget your glasses at the pool or break them – you will be charged 30 bahts and if you spot a towel or a sheet, here, you pay 100 bahts (there is a special warning about “the tattoo charge” on the bathroom door). There is a tea/coffee making facility in the room, but house keeping never replenished our coffee after our first day use, so we used it only once. The hotel is called Poolside Resort, but only 12 rooms have a pool view (6 per block), and the rest have to enjoy a breathtaking view of the roof or the kitchen of another hotel. The hotel lacks simple amenities such as a press-iron, so we had to pay ten bahts per item outside the hotel. There was no bathroom at the pool area (the nearest toilet is in your room). The shower had no pressure, so you never felt clean. You have to sign in and out to get a pool towel, too (which you can do only at the reception area). They sale wireless internet cards to use, but we could not get ours to function due to there limited IP addresses and when you buy it the reciept specifically says “no refunds”. We ended up buying a cyberpoint card and used another hotels wireless network. The restaurant is not bad and very popular, however, the breakfast menu is unexciting and non-variable. There is no night entertainment in the hotel, not even a bar. The poolside bar is open from 12 – 18.00 and has nothing there. You order it and the attendant goes to the resturant and picks it up. About a 10 minute round trip. Upon checkout, we were presented with a bill for snacks and drinks from the minibar that we never touched!!! We tried to explain that they must have us confused with another room, but they kept shaking their handwritten register in front of us, showing that we had all the drinks and snacks on the same day, when we were not even in town! The funniest thing is that the prices of the minibar items that were printed on the bill, were manually crossed and corrected for more expensive prices! They were scandaling with us, so, of course, we ended up paying for the items we never consumed. The hotel is so concerned not to incur any tourism related expenses that they totally forgot about customer satisfaction! In no way, I would recommend this hotel to any traveler, and definitely, I will never come back!	Sawadee was great with booking everything expeditiously. However, I took this hotel, because it was recommended on their website. They got this one wrong? I am currentnly staying at one of their recommended hotels in Koh Samui and it is spot on!
Mr Cristien Bunker 2010-01-02	Kata Poolside Resort, Kata Beach Excellent hotel for the price. The room was better than I expected and the service was just as good. I will definately return to this hotel if I visit Kata beach in the future.	The booking service was first class!
Liao Anhua 2010-01-01	Kata Poolside Resort, Kata Beach the resort is very good ,the room is clean. we order the pool view room ,the pool is small but beatiful,my child like it very much. the location is near the beach,just 5 minutes walking . maybe center of the kata beach, lots of shop ,resort ,exchange and restaurant	booking service is very good ,reply quickly.
Yvonne Watson 2009-12-27	Kata Poolside Resort, Kata Beach We were very disapointed with this hotel. The most expensive and worst we have stayed in in Thailand! First room shown to was full of mosquitos and had a tiny, dark balcony which was only a few feet from a concrete wall! Hotel said they had no other rooms but miraculously found a better one after I rang Sawadee!! (upper floor with slightly better view from balcony) Pool was ok but only a few tatty plasic sun beds ...not enough for size of hotel and the only place in Thailand where the beds are covered in people s towels by 8.30am (due to lack of them?) Location good if you want to be in centre ...near bars and short walk to beach. Would not stay there again.	After being double booked at Boomerang Cottages (brilliant place) Sawadee recommended this hotel ...not a good choice. Had to pack and move after 3 nights. Have had better service from Sawadee in past.
Erik Try Jørgensen 2009-12-09	Kata Poolside Resort, Kata Beach Hotel is great and good location. Fantastic good service, the staff were very helpfull. Resturant was very good. Room was big and clean. If we went to Phuket we will stay there again.
R Bakker 2009-10-28	Kata Poolside Resort, Kata Beach good value for money. friendly helpfull staff. big spacious room.nice bathroom with \ internal window\ centraly located yet quiet. 5 mins walk from the beach.Dont expect great views from the room.	good deal. We would go back.
Lorna Mary Somers 2009-10-28	Kata Poolside Resort, Kata Beach Very nice, budget 3 star hotel. Nice large rooms, clean and well equipped. Beds are typical Thai beds solid base and firm matress which some have complained about but which I found very comfortable. Breakfast was basic as were hotel facilities. Nice pool.	Very fast and almost instant confirmation. No problems when I got to the hotel having booked only hours before
Marian Andreasen 2009-09-23	Kata Poolside Resort, Kata Beach We have met the most wonderful staff we have traveled a lot around, but the staff is no better. We lived at 1202 which was in the gable overlooking the reception. Lovely balcony and super room. The hotel is highly recommended to others here are really getting value for money. Pool area was also super.	Alt har været perfekt.
Gert Pedersen 2009-08-05	Kata Poolside Resort, Kata Beach Very good hotel with big rooms,nice and peacefull.Good breakfast,and good cleaning of the room.Take good care of your belongings,my daughter missed 1000bath from her purse beacause she had forgotten to lock it into the safe (free)before she went to the pool.	Worked perfect.
Carolyn Frances Levin 2009-07-22	Kata Poolside Resort, Kata Beach Excellent value for money and it is in a great position. 5 minute walk to the beach and it is amongst shops and restaurants. The rooms are a decent size with air conditioning and tv. the swimming pool is nice and clean. The breakfast was also good. I will stay here again.	I would use Sawadee again as everyting was the same as shown on the website and I had no problem with my booking.
