Vimarn Samut Resort, Haad Rin Nai What an aweful place. First off the standard room means standard - no kettle, no fridge, no tv, no safe, no make up mirror, no hairdryer, no telephone and only occasionaly water! You get one towel each. You have to ask for your room to be cleaned. It is about a 15 minute walk to the full moon party beach and right on sunrise beach. We also had money stolen from our room on the night of the full moon. One of the staff walked into our room without knocking after I had asked for new towels. Breakfast is poor - you are given a tick box sheet to fill out. And the worst thing ... it cost us 2,800 baht a night (we had to stay for 3 nights as it was full moon and we had the full moon rate and this was in low season - November). Basically do not stay here we were so disappointed. |

Vimarn Samut Resort, Haad Rin Nai Would not be recommending this resort to anyone! I had several items stolen from my locked room and the staff were less than helpful when I reported this issue, in fact they were rude and hostile. Furthermore the room was not serviced on a daily basis and it should be noted that the resort does not come with a pool or bar fridge in the room as advertised. Nor can any taxi s be arranged by the hotel staff instead you are left to your own devices to wave one down on the road and for those who are not familiar with Koh Phangan, this is no easy feat as taxi s are far and few between. The room is extremely basic with a towel for a sheet. Would definately not stay here again and for those who are game, I hope your experience is more pleasant than mine. Good luck. |
Quick and easy, very efficient. |

Vimarn Samut Resort, Haad Rin Nai The hotel itself was ok - quite basic. Didn t like the fact that you had to actually request the room be cleaned, rather than it being done automatically. When it was cleaned, the beds weren t changed. Was right on the beach, but the beach wasn t that great - quite dirty. Also there s not much going on on that part of the beach. Are a few more resorts further along the beach, but that s about it. We were there in low season and it was really quiet - the staff tended to shut the bar by about 9pm. It wasn t a very well stocked bar in any case, as is only a hut on the beach! Although the staff did reopen the bar one night when we wanted to use it - was only about 9:30pm! There are nicer bars to go to further along the beach anyway. The staff were ok, but very pushy when it came to booking taxi s, trips round the island etc. In fact, I mntioned wewere thinking of doing one and one of the members of staff knocked on my door the next morning to say she d booked us on one, then got a bit stroppy when i pointed out I hadn t actually said I definitely wanted to go on one. If you are looking for cheap, fairly basic accommodation though it s fine. We stayed there during the full moon party and it s fairly close to sunset beach, but away fro all the noise. The staff will ferry you down on a scooter if needs be! No good if there s more than a couple of you! |
Good - easy and quick to use! |

Vimarn Samut Resort, Haad Rin Nai I would rate the hotel alone as 7/10 (average) and it is just steps away from the beach. What made the whole experience different was how friendly and courteous the staff members were. Service is definitely 10/10. They were also very accommodating; special breakfasts could be ordered without any extra costs, ferry ticket and taxi services were done with lightning speed. It was definitely the extra steps that the staff member had taken to make the whole experience very pleasant! |
annoying slow with long wait time for e-mail. |

Vimarn Samut Resort, Haad Rin Nai We had a great time. Neal is awesome and the staff are really cool. They ll even write the hotel name and room number on your arm if you stay during a full moon party to make sure you can remember where to come back to that night. Definitely recommend! |

Vimarn Samut Resort, Haad Rin Nai during the full moon party everyplace is a bit overpriced thus overall the price is relatively reasonable. the rooms are big, clean, aircon, but no TV or fridge, curtains, linen etc are basic but clean. the safety deposit at reception is a shared safe ie every rooms valuables put in one safe with key held by hotel - i left a lot of cash which i was worried about but it was all fine. the staff are v helpful and friendly. the other guests tended to be student types. on the road its a long walk to the party but by walking to the beach its only 5 to 7 minutes walk. its a good place to stay if you want value for money, and want to be close to full moon party but still far enough away to have a bit of peace and quiet. |
very good, efficient, i was impressed |

Vimarn Samut Resort, Haad Rin Nai We were looking forward to this little piece of paradise after reading reviews online. We have strong suspicions that the positive reviews written about this hotel are the work of an english speaking owner or a tourist who was paid to post them. This place is beyond terrible. Located on a far and deserted part of Haad Rin, dirty and worst of all- overpriced. They misrepresent themselves online and charge prices that are exhuberant for this island. You will be sorely disappointed upon arrival (as we were) but will be forced to stay 3 nights around the full moon party (the only time this hotel has any guests... I saw their booking calendar during our stay). For the amount they charged (about 70USD, very expensive for Haad Rin), we expected a nice room with all ameneties. Instead, we got a dirty room with an airconditioner that we could not control, a large towel for a blanket ( I kid you not!) and no tv. The only toiletries offered were dingy towels and rolls of toilet paper. The room was reachable by 3 staircases, and there was no one to help carry the luggage. Upon arrival, our toilet seat had pee stains on it . The beach is dirty and unswimmable (large coral reef) and the distance to the busy sunrise beach is way more than the 10 minutes posted in the hotel description. |

Vimarn Samut Resort, Haad Rin Nai In my opinion this hotel was terrible. Not what we were looking for anyway. Built on hillside so loads of stairs. Beach area was dirty as was check-in area. Did not stay. Went to Phangan Spa Resort a few hundred meters down the road. Approximately the same price and far superior. Would recommend this hotel as a better option to Vimarn. |

Vimarn Samut Resort, Haad Rin Nai Great location on a nice and quite beach, 15 minute walk from all the craziness of Hadrin (if you are there around the Full Moon), so it s close to all the action, but quite and chill. The family/people that run this place are the nicest you ll meet, and make the overall stay enjoyable (great Thai cooking as well). Be aware however, that this is definetly not a resort . The quality of both the rooms and the ammenites are more similar to a hostel. And the guests, although mature and respectful (relative to some of the other places in Hadrin), are mostly made up of backpackers or travelers, with very few long-term vacationers. If you are used to or looking for a resort type atmosphere, this is probably not the place for you. However,if you don t mind very basic, hostel-type accomodations, than this place is great. |
Very good service, no problems at all. |
