Akwa Guesthouse, Chaweng Beach Great place, I was travelling solo and was welcomed, got suggestions on places to go, had a good time in general, thanks to the owner and the rest of the staff. The place is very funky, the rooms are clean and confortable, and just across the street from the beach (southern end of Chaweng, much more quite than the rest of the beach). I strongly recommend this place to everybody. |

Akwa Guesthouse, Chaweng Beach Arrived at Akwa 21:30, met with Patrick & was shown the room at the ground floor. There is an electrical failure in that room & was told to take it or stay at 4th floor & move the next day. Upon entering the room, it was really damp & stink. Water doesn t flow well in the bathroom as well & toilet bowl valve not working properly, keeps on refueling, never stops. Because of the short circuit, Pat told me it wipe out the data in the computer which of my years working in computer still amazes me how it could happen. Luckily I brought my printout receipt. Conclusion, AKWA looks good on pic but its time to do maintenance |

Akwa Guesthouse, Chaweng Beach If you are single and going to Koh Samui you have to stay at Akwa Guesthouse. The rooms are nice but more importantly the staff is excellent at making you feel welcome. My room was on the second floor and was only a 1-minute walk to the Akwa eating area, which has a great assortment of foods to choose from. The location is great as its situated not too far nor not to close to the downtown area. I was able to sleep at night without hearing a sound. I ve heard a few people complain about this hotel but I cant for the life of me figure out why, but if you want to spend $300.00 a night then be an idiot and find some overpriced hotel to stay at. This is the best bed and breakfast hotel to stay at hands down. As an American I ve stayed in many bed and breakfast hotels but never one as cool, and laid back as the Akwa Hotel. I look forward to going back this time with friends. Michael Johnson Houston Texas USA |

Akwa Guesthouse, Chaweng Beach When I arrived at the hotel, they were quite busy and the reception/dining area was a bit cramped but managed to get the job done. This guesthouse is really a good value. Housekeeping does a great job. They offer little ammenities that most places charge you such as free rental of books and dvds and they put nice little touches in your room such as flowers and candles and laundry detergent. The dining area and food was decent and the drinks are pretty good. The only drawback is since they are not beachside, you have to sit on the sand or rent chairs. But the beach is right across the street from the building I was staying at. The other two buildings are a short distance away. Chaweng Beach is definitely the best spot on Koh Samui. It has nice sand and warm, calm and clear water. |

Akwa Guesthouse, Chaweng Beach Akwa Guesthouse was the greatest place we ve been on our whole trip to Thailand. Akwa is special, different and like home. Every room is an individual room and looks special. They put all those tiny little important things in there that make you feel like at mama house. You get a hairdryer, message board, dvd player, books, dvds, body lotion e.g. After our trip down to Koh Samui we really enjoyed to relax in our beautiful and colourful Micky Mouse room and loved to come back to Akwa after 5 days spended on Koh Phangan. |
Everything worked out as quickly as possible and as easy as I never expected it. We just booked the guesthouse while sitting in Bangkok and planning our trip to Koh Samui and were happy about the quick booking. |

Akwa Guesthouse, Chaweng Beach I was thoroughly disappointed by my experience at Akwa guesthouse. The guesthouse did not accept credit cards to pay the remaining balance of our bill which meant having to go off and find a cashpoint. When we finally got to our room (when taken on a 10 minute walk down the road and down a dark back alley opposite a kareoke bar) we had to climb four flights of stairs to get to our room. The room was clean and pleasantly decorated although on closer inspection our main patio door did not lock. When we told the owner we were unhappy to sleep there he offered to mend the door or begrudgingly give us a refund. We chose a refund as it was 9pm by this time only to find that he had tried to short change us and charge us a 20% booking fee. I would attempt to stay here again. |
Thoroughly efficient and useful. |

Akwa Guesthouse, Chaweng Beach The guesthouse and staff were brilliant from start to finish. Very friendly and accomadating, they have thought about everything you could need and it is there for you, with the quirky Akwa style of course. 11 out of 10 for our stay and we exteneded by nearly five days and will be back there on our return to the island |
Does the job for a reasonable price, only way to book unless you book when you get there |

Akwa Guesthouse, Chaweng Beach Absolutely awful! We booked a standard room, and I don t know who s standards they were following, but wet floor, damp wall, ants everywhere & no room to swing a cat isn t up to anybody s standards. We checked out 5 mins after we checked in. When we were shown our room, the guy just gave us the key and legged it, there was a view of a concrete wall, I locked the door and the knob came off in my hand, however there was an escape route out the window, which didnt lock at all. We did get the most of our money back, but what an awful experience. |
No problems, except that the guesthouse couldn t give us all our money back as Sawadee had taken a percentage. |

Akwa Guesthouse, Chaweng Beach Extremly nice questhouse. We really felt like staying at a friends house, there are so many nice details in the room. We extended our stay from 2 to 6 nights. Breakfast, Restaurant and Drinks are also very good. Beach is just across the street. We would definetly come back to Akwa on our next Koh Samui trip. |
Excellent. We booked on short notice and were extremely glad to receive a confirmation via sms. Great Service!! |
