about 785 kilometers north of Bangkok and 180 kilometers from the
city of Chiang Mai. Enveloping the Kok River basin, the province of
Chiang Rai covers an area of approximately 11,678 square kilometers

Thailand converge. For centuries, due to it's natural mountainous
boundaries, Chiang Rai was isolated from the rest of Thailand and
only became a province in 1910. Fortunately, this isolation resulted
in the preservation of the province's unique culture and natural
beauty which are now easily accessible for all to appreciate, via
excellent roads from Bangkok and Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai's modern
international airport.
Today, Chiang Rai is a travelers' paradise endowed with abundant
