Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach
We had a very nice time staying at Smile resort having no real complaints at all. The location was perfect for us as my girlfriend has trouble walking long distances so for the village strip it was perfect, right on our doorstep and no looking for a taxi home. The room was very clean and was cleaned thouroughly every day working around our schedule, not once were we hassled to vacate whilst the chalet was made up. Having two pools was great and it was nice and quiet for us. The grounds were beautifully maintained and was a real pleasure to stay there. The staff were excellent not that we had a lot of dealing with them as all went very smoothly, the resort restaurant was very good quality and value for evening meals,in fact we ate there more than anywhere else and there is plenty of competition locally! If you have never been to Bohput beach before it is a relaxing part of the island to stay with a good selection of bars and resturants, if you want the night clubs and girly bars that is a taxi ride to Chewang down the road but for a couple of young at heart 40 somethings we really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere where we could chill out and have sensible night out with a bit of life within a short walk of each other. The Shack steak bar is definitely worth checking out, not that cheap but a better piece of steak will be hard to find, the Starfish looks expensive but really is nt and is good quality, the 56 restaurant is also well worth a visit at least once, along with a number of bars you will usually find enough to entertain yourself in the evening. We did nt bring children with us but felt it really was nt a place to bring them, there really is not a lot for them to do and the resort did not seem to cater for them in any visible way. Nothing is ever perfect so I will list just a few niggles so that you have a full picture and hopefully Smile Resort might take these points on board. The rooms are well equiped ( we had superor bungalow ), hair drier, soap and shampoo, TV, stocked fridge, nice quiet aircon, but a Kettle and tea and coffee for a morning cuppa would have been great. The buffet breakfast was OK but thats about it, there is enough choice for most to find something but 5 star it is not, then again you ain t paying 5 star prices. The staff never once questioned me on taking a breakfast back to the room for my girlfriend as we always returned the crockery. At the moment there is building works being done next to the main pool so it is a bit of a building site there, we did nt find this a major problem as we also understand that these things need to be done at some point, it was just unfortunate it was when we stayed. As a whole it certainly did nt affect us that much. We stayed at Smile in what was really the off season so it was quite quiet, which was great for us, we stayed in S10 which was in a row of 4 bungalows, now although they were detached by the walls they shared a common roof, this meant that when you had neighbours ( which was nt often thank god) you could hear them very clearly echoing through the roof space making them sound very near by. We thought that they were being un-reasonably noisey until you heard their hairdrier and realized how much the sound travelled. My tip is make sure you are properly detached otherwise you will wake up with them like it or not. Apart from that we more than staisfied and should we return to Koh Samui, which I think we will at some point Smile resort will be our first choice as we feel we got very good value for money, look down the beach and you will be paying an awful lot more, OK they are nicer quality but unless you have deep pockets you seem to paying through the nose for many extras that you may never need.

Used before and will definitly use again, it gives honest accounts and is easy to use.

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach
We had a pleasant stay in the hart of Bo Phut, right near the beach. Great breakfast location! Also very nearby the excellent restaurants in Fisherman s village. Accomodation was good and bungalow had most necesary things (airco / fridge), but unfortunately no safe-box in the room. The only other comment would be that the bed was a bit uncomfortable. Due to low-season it was very quiet in the resort. The staff however was very friendly and helpful. All-in-all a very pleasant experience.

Very smooth. Excellent!

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach
The hotel was very nice indeed. The stuff were very helpful and polite. The room(double deluxe)was as shown at the pictures and was cleaned every day. The restaurant, just a few steps from the sea, was great! The hotel was located at a very nice village called The fisherman s village , not very far away from Chaweng. The only bad thing was that the sea in front the hotel was a little bit dirty however, we rented a motorbike and went to other beaches to swim. We would definately stay there again if we ever visited Samui for second time!

Very simple and secure.

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach
Have been to Smile House three times now. Lovely resort at reasonable rates with two good swimming pools. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice bar and restaurant overlooking the beach. My only gripe is the lighting in the bungalows - it s not good. OK for guys, but for women who want to make-up in the evenings it s a bit of a worry what the end product looks like! However, would definitely recommend Smile House and would stay there again on our next visit to Samui.

Very impressed! Extremely fast, efficient service. Very clear instructions, making on-line payments very easy to follow.

Our feedback on this resort is positive. (we extended our stay after we saw the room and facilities). It is next to the Fishermen s village, so near all the restaurants and services.

Easy to use and reliable.

Smile House Resort, Bophut Beach
We enjoyed our stay at Smile House and particularly the beautiful sea and beach view from the restaurant where we ate breakfast. What a lovely way to start the day! We stayed in a three-bedroom bungalow, which was nicely positioned in pretty gardens and close to a secluded swimming pool. It benefited from air conditioning, 2 bathrooms and a fridge/freezer in the huge kitchenette area. The accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable and our only concern was the poor lighting in every room. All the bulbs were low wattage and even in daylight the mosquito netting on the windows made the rooms dimly lit, so it was difficult for us to accurately shave or apply make up. Apart from this the accommodation presented good value and we would recommend a stay in one of these larger deluxe bungalows.

Excellent value for money for a family of four. Paid approx 60 Euros for family terrace bungalow (room SM11 situated at end of hotel property) inc two bathrooms, three bedrooms. Down side was noise from nearby bar from midnight to 0230 most nights and noise from neighbours. After 10 days, moved to two attached bungalows but with no interconnecting door and negotiated the rate. Could hear our children loud and clear which was fine but would have been annoying if they weren t ours! Ask for T1 and T2 or T3 and T4 if you want this set up. Showers not great in all the bungalows we stayed in but I think that s the same all over Thailand unless you pay for 5 star. Staff not overly friendly but warmed up during our second week. Owners ignore everyone and never say hello! Breakfast good. Having two pools to choose from was great and never had a problem getting a sunbed. Large pool is warm. To order poolside drinks or food you have to cross small road; shame the waiter doesnt walk around from time to time to ask. Gardens beautiful. No massage in hotel but just opposite on beach (cost 5 Euros). You have to walk 10 mins to main road to catch a pickup as they dont come into village. Have stayed in Bophut three times and feel atmosphere is cooler if you stay directly on beach, even if you have to walk back along beach from village at night. I recommend the Frog & Ghecko, just opposite Smile House, for a friendly welcome, food, drinks, 70 s music and their famous Wednesday pub quiz.

Very good. Quick and efficient. Thank you.
