Pavilion Samui Boutique Resort, Lamai Beach
First time we were at The Pavilion Samui Boutique Resort in April 2008, we chose the junior suite. Our stay there was ok, but we felt the hotel was showing age and could use some maintenance. We decided to return anyhow this fall, because we enjoyed the location of it. This time, we chose the Hydro Pool. Our stay was absolutely amazing and completely exceeded all of our expectations. The staff were generally friendly and accommodating, although some of them did not master English so well. The facilities, environment and ambience of the resort were all outstanding. It was quiet, low season. Everything functional, and most of the details which we felt previously needed maintenance seemed to have been ironed out. Generally very clean all around the resort and in the room. But at times we woke up with very small ants (those are innofensive, frequent in this climate, but still annoying). They mostly entered the room from around the windows. So the cleaning lady gave us some insect spray to vaporize around the windows. It got much better thereafter. On the resort, they seem to alternate the fountains - it would be spectacular if all the fountains worked simultaneously. The restaurant was more expensive than others also on the beach side, but still reasonable considering it is part of the resort with an impeccable view. Food is very good, we just noticed portions were reduced compare to the first time we went... In the morning, it may take some time for custom order of eggs; and their English is not always good to understand your order. Need to speak clearly and slowly. The morning buffet was ok. One downside of the hotel: they are very greedy when it comes to items in the room. Last time we were in the Junior suite, they provided already-worn slippers which we left outside the back door (did not want that anywhere in our room!) When we left, they verified the room in details and couldn t find the used slippers. They were ready to charge us for them!! Fortunately, we had not thrown them in the trash which would normally have been our first reaction... (We still had already worn slippers which we left in an obvious spot before the final room inspection; needless to say that for hygiene purposes, they should provide brand new, wrapped slippers or none at all.) This time, the issue was one of the bathrobes, which the clean lady took along with used towels two days before we left and never replaced it in the room. Once again, we were interrogated on it before leaving and had to justify and explain this. They didn t charge us, but definetely should take a note when removing items from the room themselves without replacing them. We travel a lot, both for vacation and business. Never came across such an attitude. Make sure you don t loose or break anything, they ll probably charge you disproportionally compared to its worth. Beach Towels: they should propose a way to conveniently exchange used beach towels if needed(outside the once-daily service). They are quite sensitive when it comes to changing towels or requesting additional ones. Clearly an attitude this hotel should change if they wish to be a boutique accomodation (where these petty annoyance leave a bad taste in customers mouth - make you feel like your out to get them). Overall, Hydro Pool Suite definitely worth the difference vs. the junior suite; best room we have ever experienced by way of hotel accommodation of this type. Pavilion is recognized by the locals as the best place to stay in Lamai and we thorougly enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in returning again to Lamai, at the Pavillion.

Hotel did not show availabilities for 6 consecutive days, but we successfully booked two separate 1-day and 5-days stays consecutively. An additional step, but no consequence to us in the end.

I was very disappointed in the hotel. For the amount of money that I paid I have stayed in much nicer places in Ko Samui and Phuket. My room was very basic, even though it was the spa junior suite. The hotel employees were not very helpful and their language skills were below average (I have been to Thailand eight times and not had this problem). The air conditioner did not work, it made loud noices and spit ice out at points in time during the night, which woke me up, but did not cool me down. I could not wait to leave and I wouldn t recomend the hotel to anyone.

The service was user friendly and easy to communicate with.

Absolutely unsatisfied , this is not a boutique hotel but simply a 3 star hotel. The staff is incopetent, no smile on their face always. I booked a room then I upgrade to the top room spending 18000,00 bath a night , i used restaurant inside , i used mini bar inside the room , i tipped everyone during my stays then on check out day i had to pay 180 ( one hundred thai baht ) for the ash tray my GF accidentally broken. With that policy and that service soon they will lose a lot of costumers.

perfect like always .

Fantastic hotel. We stayed 5 nights. We had booked 1 junior suite and 1 superior spa room. Junior suite was upgraded to a hydra pool villa, which was fantastic, private pool and a lovely room. The staff on Pavilion is very nice and helpful. We will for sure return to this hotel!

Easy and safe

The Pavilion Samui Boutique Resort was absolutely amazing and completely exceeded all of our expectations. The staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating, the facilities, environment and ambience of the resort was outstanding and the restaurant was well priced with a great selection of culinary delights and a beach view that was unbeatable. We were lucky enough to be upgraded from a Junior Spa Suite to a Hydro Pool Suite, which was definitely a wonderful surprise and was the best room we have ever experienced by way of hotel accommodation. All in all, the Pavilion was by far the best place to stay in Lamai and we thorougly enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in returning again to Lamai.

Sawadee is a great booking service, prompt and very easy, carefree and reliable way to book in accommodation in Thailand.

Best Hotel at Lamai Beach. We stayed in the Hydro Pool Villa. Everything was living up to our expectations. Hotel has a touch of class other Hotels are missing. If you are prepared to spend comparably much money you get coresppnding value. I can thouroughly recommend.

The hotel is fantastic, all the rooms look to be at a very high standard from what we could see, we were very lucky to get upgraded to one of the Grand Villa rooms, which was unbelievable! The spa facilities are expensive, but I think that is what you will find anywhere in a boutique hotel, but they were very good and well worth it, and as a resident you do get discounts. The only downside is the food, it is as other people have said, over priced relative to other food in the restaurants. We only tried the Thai food admittedly but it was very disappointing (why go to Thailand and eat western food?). Would have been ok to pay inflated prices if the food had been exceptional, but it was not. The breakfast was fine though, with lots to choose from. Summary, stay here, it is worth it, just eat out...

All worked fine, no problems at all and all clear.

It is a great place at lamai beach, one of the best. Rooms are very nice but also very noise. I could even hear everything from our neighbours. Staf at restaurant and pool are very nice which i cannot say about reception staf and lady who took care of tours was very rude. We spoke with the general manager and he appologised for her behavour but she never spoke to us again. Dit also ask for newspaper every day, and receptionist said that it was not possible at Koh Samui, but the book shop at Lamai (100 meters) they sell it. Nice hotel but very bad service at reception.

Very beautiful resort and great location, but was slightly dissapointed. We paid so much money and had very high expectations, but the place didn t seem to live up to the photos. With the money we paid, you can definitely find something a lot nicer on koh samui. nevertheless, the pavillion was very dream-like for the most part and, ofcourse very clean. there was a walkway connected to the beach and the staff were all very friendly. there was a huge dead chocoroach in my roo though :( if you are willing to spend $300+ on a room, it might be better to browse a bit more.

great!
